Days 83 - 96

We forgot to update last Sunday, so this is 2 weeks worth of pictures.

Testing out the swaddle blanket in the car seat.

Do we need a new toilet seat?

Andrew set up the crib.

In case anyone out there is moving- use trash bags to move hanging clothes.

Andrew installing the car seat base.

Beautiful view of the city from the Blume's apartment.

Andrew's friend from work gave us their old bassinet.

The bear tested it out for us.

The bear testing out the crib.

And the changing table.

The crib with the bedding.

The rocking chair will go in the corner.

Bookshelves.

Andrew thinks Bridget may have a stuffed animal problem.

Dining Room- no more boxes!

Pack 'n' Play and swing.

Andrew got the hooks installed so we can pull the curtains back.

We are all set for the baby to come.  Just a week left till D-day.  Check back throughout the week to see if there's a new addition!

Days 76 - 82

As predicted we didn't do too much during the week besides unpack a box here and there.  The good news is Andrew had a 3 day weekend so we got a lot done!  We picked up a full sized bed from friends of ours (they are having twins so no space for a guest bed anymore).  We are going to set it up in the 3rd Floor Back Bedroom.

We ordered a carseat that would hook into the stroller we were given.  We found a bear willing to be our test subject.  Andrew just has to hook the base into the car and we are good to go!  Now they will let us leave the hospital with a baby.

Andrew getting ready to spray paint the rocking chair for the baby's room.

New patio set.  Thanks to Bridget's parents.  We just need a cooler evening and we can test it out!

Andrew checking out his new toys.

The Pack 'n' Play set up in the Dining Room.  It almost beat us setting it up, but in the end we won!

Testing out the rocker.

Looks pretty comfy.

The bear trying out the changing station.  Bridget was going to make Andrew practice diapering the bear, but didn't want to waste diapers!  Guess he'll have to have on the job training.

Sleeping area.

Andrew installing the brackets for the Living Room curtains.

The sun is shining in too much to tell, but the curtains are red and white.

Andrew checking out the set up.

1st Floor Bathroom ready to shower!

Andrew waited till there was some shade to paint.

Andrew admiring his work.

We had to use liquid nails to attach the face plates to the sink.

Looks like it was meant to be a sink cabinet all along.

Our spider plant seems to be pretty happy in its new home.

Mike the Plumber came back and hooked up the washer, dryer and slop sink.

Andrew cut a piece of plywood to fit over the cut glass.

The curtains in the Living Room.  Andrew just has to install the hooks for holding the curtains back.  Bridget has to hem them since Ikea sells one size fits most curtains.

Dad came and pruned the neighbors tree back since it was invading our walkway.

Quite the pile off the tree.

Dad and Andrew hung cabinets up in the Laundry Room.

We have plenty of space to storage now.

Andrew hung the curtains in the Baby's Room.  Jungle Buddies print.

The curtains block the sunlight nicely.  We have a bookcase to build and a bunch of empty boxes to take to the trash tomorrow.

Bridget worked on organizing the Baby's Room this weekend.  She also washed her first load of laundry in the house- Baby clothes and sheets.  The crib should arrive any day now so we will be set.  Just have to wait for the baby to decide to come.

Day 72 - 75 Happy Father's Day!

Sorry everyone we've been slacking on the house and on the updating.  But let's face it it's been a little boring since all we're doing is little finishing projects and unpacking.  I think we will update every Sunday night from here on out (let's face it the weekends are going to be when we get the most done anyway!).

To be honest we haven't done anything in the house till today.  We had friends in from out of town and Bridget's awesome friends threw her a baby shower.  So we spent Sunday moving everything we had dumped in the baby's room to where it goes.  Now the fun part starts washing all the baby clothes and finding a place for all the new baby things.

We decided that the mantel would be perfect for stuffed animals!

Changing table/dresser.

Thank you to everyone who's been faithfully following along!  We will see you next Sunday evening with hopefully lots accomplished!

Day 71

Tonight's plans were changed because of the threat of a huge storm.  So far we are just experiencing extreme humidity.  Andrew worked on the rest of the quarter round and put the TV in place.  Bridget worked on unpacking some more boxes.

The heating vent caused issues with the quarter round.

Surprisingly, we wish we had the "pantry" space from our apartment.  Besides that we are much happier with how big the Kitchen is.

Day 70- Unpacking

Andrew worked later than usual today.  So after dinner we worked on unpacking some boxes and finding homes for things.  Andrew also messed with the reducer for the threshold from the Kitchen to the Dining Room and to the Front Hall.  Unfortunately, the step down is too big for the reducer to handle so we have to come up with a new plan.

No pictures today.

Day 69- The House is Coming Together!

Dad came down while Andrew was at work and moved boxes around to make them easier to unpack.  He also finished a couple of projects for us.  We discovered that the Linen Closet on the 2nd Floor was put together very well...towels pulled the shelves out.  So all the old shelves are removed and we will have to re-evaluate the closet.  We will either try to find studs and reattach the shelves or get a shelving unit to slide in.  The counters in the Kitchen were also caulked, but because the house is so square they may need a few applications.

The tub is finally clean.

And re-caulked.

We just need to put the piano back into position and see about a pew for the Front Hall.

New wreath on the door (Thanks Nancy and Dean!).  The Front Hall was cleared out dramatically today!

New home of the Keurig.  Still in the Dining Room, but closer to the Kitchen.

The "Bar."

Things are getting unpacked!

The hutch actually fit in the Kitchen.  Giving us much needed storage.

We have plates and bowls.

The light in the Front Hall is back working.

Dad and Andrew clean out and rearranged the Back Porch.

All the junk is off our Patio.  Just need the laundry tub to get hooked up in the Laundry Room.
